Room 528, Wednesday Afternoon/Evening

Wednesdays were Emma's slow day. No classes, no homework, and she typically did all her Special Classes on Thursday before going to film studies.

She'd already talked to Jack and was bored again. So since Triela would be out part of the afternoon at Gun Club, she had the door open and her music up, and was reading a completely trashy magazine.

What? She knew what her roommate had been up to last night when she'd been out. Any teasing from certain other parties would result in teasing and potential blackmail. Unfortunately for Triela, telepaths either made the best or worst roommates ever, depending on their mood.

"I'm all for it," Peter said, rubbing his hands together. "And if I lose, so be it. I think at that point I'm not sure being naked in your room is much of a real loss."

"Somehow I think if one of us ends up naked, the other one won't be dressed for long." Emma groaned and covered her eyes. "That would have sounded a lot more flirty on any other day."

"I think we both get a pass today," Peter said. "And at least with today being the way it is, you'll know I'm being honest when I say that weirdness or not, I'm just happy to be here with you."

A genuine, pleased smile crossed Emma's lips. "That's very sweet Peter," she said, leaning in to brush a kiss over his cheek. "Thank you."

"And I promise I don't get more saccharine than that," Peter added, grinning ear to ear. "I am not some little lost puppy looking for a home."

"Good. I've never had a pet, and I might forget to feed a puppy," she joked. "I've been told, however, that I am very good with people, when I want to be."

"Now that I look forward to testing myself," Peter said. "But I'm getting ahead of the game here." He rubbed his little scruffy chin with a hand. "Unless you really do want to skip straight to dessert."

"Well, we already ordered the food, so it would be a shame if we never ate it, but I'm not opposed to appetizers," Emma offered.

And if she hadn't moved back after giving him that kiss, well, it had only been a moment. She hadn't gotten around to it yet. Mostly.

"Well then, I would mind a little taste myself," Peter said, leaning over to try and kiss Emma. It seemed the right time.

It did, didn't it? Emma made a pleased sound and kissed him back, shifting to slide her hands up his back. It was about time, in her opinion.
