The sun had barely begun to set when the house on Apocalypse Avenue lit-up like a small supernova. Each of the zombie lawn gnomes each had their own little candle in a cup, and the walk up to the house was strewn with fairy lights between the trees.

In the backyard, you would find wine, mead, fresh fruit, sparklers, and pretty much anything else required for your midsummer solstice party. There was more food in the kitchen, of course, and rather than the traditional bonfire, the residents had rigged their own burning sun in the center of the backyard.

Merry meet and welcome on the longest day!

[Open! If you think you got an invitation, you did! Townies, students, alumni, teachers...all welcome. Up ridiculously early for maximum SP.]

Piled high, indeed! There were:
-grilled skewers of lemon-pepper grilled chicken, halved cherry tomatoes, and portobello mushrooms
-spinach salad (with red onion, button mushrooms, and sliced boiled egg) with, on the side (for those who want/need to avoid any of it):
  -a spicy balsamic raspberry vinaigrette
  -shredded cheddar and asiago cheese
  -crumbled bacon
-warm naan bread, especially useful for eating:
-Thai green curry (and never let it be said that Ronan wouldn't mix cuisines)
-orange and pineapple beef

And, for dessert:
-strawberry shortcake, served on honey scones with lemon whipped cream
-Forever Nuts coconut milk ice cream
-your choice of: orange, raspberry, cayenne, or mint truffles, dipped in dark chocolate

... Someone had been busy.

"God, Emma, leave some for the rest of us."

That was 'hello' in Katespeak. But also a very serious plea to at least take part in devouring all the cakes. She wasn't a mutant but you wouldn't have been able to tell that from her metabolism.

"So... He's basically your Moosh, then," Kate decided, not at all greedy in taking the offered sweet stuff. "If he doesn't cook, it's usually takeout night."

"... Wow you really are worse than me or Bod." Who both could actually fend for themselves in the kitchen just fine. But she, at least, didn't usually feel like it. "Good thing you live with a chef, then."

"You know," Ronan said, "there are more scones inside."

And strawberries. And there was another carton of whipping cream, too. Just in case you were curious, Emma.

"Did you do all this yourself?" Isabel asked when she finally found Ronan. "Because wow..."

"Roommate, are we trying to tempt them all into moving in with us?" Jack queried, with a raised eyebrow. "Your food might do it."

"Keep it up and we'll make you cater the wedding," Wyatt said, grabbing a scone before dinner because lemon whipped cream, that's why.
