Emma snickered. "You're horrible," she said, firing back with a fair approximation of a native New Yorker accent. "Simply horrible."
"But I suppose it will do for now," she continued, going back to her own, crisp tones. "I'm surprised that with two growing boys and Miss Laura, only one turkey was enough."
Jack hadn't told her if Laura was like Derek, and Emma wasn't going to ask. But she was rather sure Jack could eat an entire turkey if he set his mind to it.
