"That's because Warren is a clever boy who knows that Auntie Emma knows best," Emma said brightly. "He should be afraid."

Sometimes Emma thought that Warren was the smarter one in the relationship just for that reason.

"But it would make him laugh, at least. I don't know what's been going on on that island - besides compulsive honesty day - but you all seem far too grumpy. I had to promise to come out this summer if I fail at finding a job again before he cheered up."
