Emma's parents had always politely referred to it as 'The Clinic.' The Snow Valley Pavilion for the Mentally Disturbed. )

[OOC: Cut for violence, NPC abuse, disturbing images, etc. Preplayed with my fantastic cast, who helped me bring Emma's original origin from Generation X #24 into Fandom High canon. Oh, and shamelessly rip off a little bit of Endsong for the end. I feel no guilt. NFI, NFB, OOC = OK.]

icecoldfrost: (you shall not pass)
Emma hadn't exactly had photographs of her childhood or family home laying about her room, so this was the first time anyone from Fandom had laid eyes on Frost House, the massive structure sitting silently behind the iron gates.

Not exactly a welcoming sight to uninvited guests. )

[OOC: NFI, NFB, OOC=OK. Preplayed with [livejournal.com profile] bitten_notshy, [livejournal.com profile] fratboybitch, [livejournal.com profile] glacial_witch, [livejournal.com profile] justwantsquiet, and [livejournal.com profile] theotherpeter. And please give a round of applause to the resplendent [livejournal.com profile] raspberryturk for playing Cordelia!]

icecoldfrost: (Now the gloves are off)
The finger-shaped bruises from where Winston had grabbed her arm stood out sharply against her pale skin, and her split lip and swollen face also stood testament to Emma's argument with Winston last night. She'd seek out Karla and have them healed after her family was good and gone; she didn't want her younger Sister getting any ideas about retribution.

For now, she wore it as a deliberate mark of rebellion against Winston, almost as a matter of pride, while she waited for the next round to begin. She'd thrown the gauntlet four years ago, and now Winston was calling her bluff.

But for once, Emma had the law on her side. And two very good lawyers who were going to make sure it stayed that way.

icecoldfrost: (of illusions and fairy dust)
Emma had been pushing herself since late last night after radio, knowing that somewhere, out there, her friends were probably doing Very Stupid Things(tm). They were idealists and that's what they did, and Emma was getting too many strange readings to feel comfortable leaving them to their own devices.

Push out. Farther. Farther. Hold more, see more, even if the damned fog was uncomfortable and Emma was tired and cold. So tired, she was starting to see things, flickering, out of the corner of her eye. People she knew weren't there, things that were gone when she turned around, and so she had decided to ignore them and keep working. Could not stop, would not stop. Not until she was satisfied that her range was as complete as possible.

Right up until the moment she pushed too far, and her eyes went pure white as she started screaming telepathically as she seized up; a distress call reaching out for two people in particular. )

Psyhic call for help was directed at Sookie and Karla, but if you think you'd have sensed it anyway, feel free to react here or in your own journals. Otherwise NFI, and all astral-plane shenanigans are NFB.]

icecoldfrost: (new york girl)
OK. So if we have time, we can do an establishy post the night before, with Emma telling Karla to wear running shoes and clothes she doesn't mind ruining. If we don't have time, we'll assume all that got said handwavily, so feel free to remark on it anway.

Thread One: The portal will dump them in Chinatown, where they make their way to the nearest subway station, hitch a ride up to Central Park. Emma and Hank make their home in lost sections of the abandoned lower level under the 42nd Street station. Hence the need for pants Karla might not mind throwing out. It's dry and clean, but there's lots of climbing and such.

Thread Two: MEET HANK! If Karla wants to poke at Hank's head, I think she could. Since he's not really a 'landen,' I don't think she'd burn out his brain.

Thread Three: (optional slumber-party thread) The girls can either stay the night with Hank (Emma's got a room! With a bed!) or then head out to crash at a hotel if they want.

Final Thread: Then some late breakfast at a diner the next day before heading back.
