Alligator Cabin, Alcove B4

Emma was quite done with this nonsense, thank you.

After a few bags had appeared around her feet during First Aid, continually tripping her up, she'd stomped back to the cabin, yanked the bags out from earlier, and promptly gone and tossed them in fire pits around the cabins. Sheilding herself didn't seem to stop them from them from appearing, or to stop her from chucking the smaller ones out the window.

The giant box marked 'Warning: Hazardous Materials' with the names of her family scrawled on it was too heavy to lift, so it got a blanket thrown over it, and Emma was going to sit on it and read her book, occasionally tossing another handbag outside.

Take that, Fandom.

"You think you know what they'd say," she shot back, tossing her hair. But there was a half-smile on her face, which meant she wasn't offended. "I would think the detective in you wouldn't rest until you'd found each and every one of my bags."

Jack smiled back at her. Someone who didn't know him might even find it angelic. "Unless I already have, and this whole visit is to cajole you out of the last few."

"When you're looking particularly innocent, I know you're about to cause trouble," she answered. "My box, you can't have it."

It's not that Jack wasn't aware of that particular issue; Emma just felt like being contrary. Also, she'd stuffed ACCESSORY TO MURDER and MY FATHER-SUBSTITUTE IS A FUZZY INSANE GENIUS inside of it, to save space until she could dump them somewhere.

Jack clucked his tongue at her. "Impossible girl." But he was smiling, too.

At least, he was smiling until the bag that said ATTENTION-HUNGRY materialized on top of Emma's dresser. "Honestly. I am not."

Emma laughed delightedly, leaning over to try and snag the bag without getting off her box. "I'm keeping this one," she informed him. "Because you are too!"

"It could just as well be meant for you!" Jack protested, but a bit feebly. "I know you like being pretty."

"I am pretty, AND I like being the center of attention, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Ergo, this is yours," she sang, catching it and waving it at him. "Don't worry, I won't tattle."

"I'm not worried about tattling."

Yes, he was.

"Yes you are." Emma knew she wasn't helping, but she couldn't resist. "But we already know what a vain creature you are, so tattling wouldn't be any fun at all."

Although she should tell Rose. Rose would find it funny, too.

"Don't worry, your lovely little tricksy brain makes up for it. Usually."

"You're going to tell Rose," Jack sighed. He wasn't psychic; he just knew the girls.

His sigh was cut short by a bag skidding into his foot. It read WON'T COMMIT TO ANYONE EXCEPT A DEAD MAN. "... and I suppose you'll mention that too, though it's hardly fair."

"Don't be cruel," she replied shortly, wrinkling her nose at him. "I'm hardly going to gossip about your Sebastien. That would be vulgar."

Another small purse dropped down next to Emma, and she quickly picked it up to toss it out the window, trying to hide the NEVER COMES IN FIRST FOR ANYONE emblazoned across the tag.

"I didn't think it would be cruel -- Rose knows everything anyhow," Jack pointed out, leaning over to read her bag.

He made a slight snorting noise at the label. "Was tossing that therapeutic?"

"I only gossip about people's personal affairs if they're funny or have immediate blackmail value," she answered, pouting at him slightly. Really. She wasn't going to say anything to anyone other than that Sebastien was gentleman, and Jack assured her that he was housebroken. Anything other than that was...uncomfortable.

"And none of this is therapeutic. If it were, we'd all be feeling better instead of getting crankier."

"I know." That applied to everything, really. "Can I do anything to make you a little less cranky now?"

"You being here helps," she admitted, shifting so she could lay on her stomach on her box and look at him. "At least I know I'm not the only one who had the NEEDS TO BE PERFECT bag drop on my head."

"I doubt any of these are entirely unique," Jack said.

Well. His one about dead men likely was.

"I'll stay as long as you'll put up with me."

"Well, what sort of bribery did you bring me? she asked, looking him over as if he might have something in his pockets. "Chocolates? Stories? Puzzles?"

Jack's face showed (exaggerated) consternation. "My lovely self isn't enough for you? I'm shocked, Emma."

"You can't just sit there and look pretty, and expect to be rewarded," Emma sighed. "You need to provide more entertainment than that."

Jack eyed her. "I know this is disappointing, but I am not enlightening your cabinmates to our sex life."

But he sounded more cheerful.

"I suppose I could scrounge up a story?"

"Jack!" Emma looked positively scandalized. "That's not what I was suggesting!"

"I was rather hoping you had a good mystery for me, or had something patently false and outrageous to spin into a tale for me."

"I'm showing Kyle how to blend into a crowd tomorrow," Jack said hopefully. "Perhaps I'll come back with a good mystery to share with you."

"Oh, I see how it is. Up to no good, are you? What a bad example you set for the boy," Emma teased.
