When it came down to it, Emma was bored. There was only so much sitting quietly and playing nicely that she was capable of the in the first place, and she'd used most of it up the first fourteen years of her life, trying to be perfect for Winston.

Which is how the germ of an idea started tickling inside her head, and why Emma was in her alcove, pecking away at her Blackberry and haphazardly shoving items in a bag. It was devious and sneaky, and might actually work. Now she just needed to work out the timezone difference to make sure she didn't arrive too early, and her evil plan would be complete.

"Karla apparently called Jack, frantic, because she thought I was pushing it too much by going to class," Emma complained, swiping a muffin or two to start. "So then Jack calls, and starts fussing by phone, and now I'm going to London to make him stop fretting."

"Of course, he expects me Friday, after my classes, so I'm going to leave this afternoon and practice my breaking and entering skills as a lesson in what happens when you try to guilt trip me; you get an annoyed me that you have to put up with longer than anticipated."

"...of course you are," Sookie sighed. "Are you sure that's a good idea, honey? I mean, I'm not gonna stop you, but are you feeling up to international travel?"

"It was either go to London or have him come here, and if I have to pick, I'll pick the one where I can make him take me to museums I've never seen once he realizes I'm fine," Emma pointed out. "Besides, I told him if the portal left me scrambled, it was his own fault."

"Take a picture with those guys with the big hats for me," she said, smiling a little. "And promise you won't exert yourself." Sookie gave her a look of concern. "Karla might've patched you up, but you were concussed like three days ago."

"I am fine," and to prove the point, Emma was going to take another muffin and stuff half of it in her mouth. See? Totally healthy appetite.

She savored it for a moment before swallowing. "I've been doing nothing but sitting quietly and going to classes which involve sitting quietly and taking walks to keep myself from throttling people quietly. I am the picture of non-exertion."

"Well. Bobby took off on Tuesday, and now you're leaving too," Sookie noted. "Color me a little worried that the two people who swapped bodies are both jetting off to parts unknown less than a week after the accident, is all. But I believe you."

"Bobby is fine, darling, I left everything where I found it," Emma assured her. "And the moment I start to look too tired, you know Jack. He'll magically produce tea and a blanket and make me sit down."

Emma was looking better than she had on Monday. Still paler than usual, but the bruises under her eyes were almost gone.

"Oh, I know you did," Sookie replied, shaking her head. "But you know. I'm concerned. Jack better mother hen you at least as well as Karla and I would here."

"It's Jack. I'm sure he considers it his just revenge for how I nagged him during his concussion," Emma sighed, looking forlorn. "If I don't get to see any of London on my trip, I shall be sad."

"Should I bring you back one of the big hats, if I can find a way to steal one?"

"...yes," Sookie decided after a moment's thought. "Yes, you should. Ooh, ooh, and you know, I bet if anyone could get those guys to laugh or change expression, I bet it'd be you."

"I am a woman of many talents," Emma agreed, although now she was contemplating getting into their heads and making them dance for Sookie, and taking pictures. "Anything else I should bring back for you?"

"Stories about how much restorative and relaxing fun you had," Sookie decided with a smile. "And tell me if the food is any good. I heard the British can't cook at all."
