Room 528, Weds Morning

Emma was awoken this morning by other people's thoughts.

This, in and of itself, wasn't unusual. Emma was usually woken at least two or three times a night by leakage from the rest of the dorm; bad dreams, loud 'activities', unholy perky people, that sort of thing.

But this was loud. It wasn't just one or two people bouncing around like squirrels on pop-rocks in the morning. No, this was much, much bigger.

And it felt very very familiar in tone. Disturbingly familiar.

Oh hell.

Emma was just going to stay under the blankets all day, if she could get away with it. Possibly kill a particular minion with the power of her brain if she got close enough. What good was it having an underling that 'knew stuff' if she wasn't going to be useful?

"Easy, Ms. Frost," Layla said holding out the coffee. "If you remember the last time this happened with the boys there was someone taking pictures to celebrate the event. Keeping things on the quiet side was merely my way of stopping the Fandom paparazzi from showing up to have their revenge."

"If the Fandom paparazzi would like to oggle, I will happily give them a number of reasons to keep their appreciation private," Emma snapped, taking the coffee. "First and foremost is the reminder that I can and will kill them with my mind."

"You could have warned me, you know."

"Trust me," Layla smirked. "It's better this way. Besides, I didn't give the boys a heads up. Had to be fair to everyone."

"Fuck fair. Fair is for preschoolers waiting to use the swings," she retorted, finally taking a sip of her beverage. Mmm...blessed caffeine... Please hold, while Emma takes her hit for the morning. "If I waited around for fair, darling, I'd still be living at home with Winston."

"And what exactly would you have done if you had such advance knowledge?" Layla asked curiously.

"Not slept in my favorite camisole set, for starters," Emma said wryly. "Luckily I do own sweatpants, as shocking as that may seem, and they weren't in the dirty laundry hamper."
