Room 528, Weds Morning
Sep. 23rd, 2009 08:00 amEmma was awoken this morning by other people's thoughts.
This, in and of itself, wasn't unusual. Emma was usually woken at least two or three times a night by leakage from the rest of the dorm; bad dreams, loud 'activities', unholy perky people, that sort of thing.
But this was loud. It wasn't just one or two people bouncing around like squirrels on pop-rocks in the morning. No, this was much, much bigger.
And it felt very very familiar in tone. Disturbingly familiar.
Oh hell.
Emma was just going to stay under the blankets all day, if she could get away with it. Possibly kill a particular minion with the power of her brain if she got close enough. What good was it having an underling that 'knew stuff' if she wasn't going to be useful?
[Closed door, open post! SP warning in effect, as I teach three times today.]

Date: 2009-09-23 02:42 pm (UTC)There was a muted thump and a curse, and the door was yanked open to reveal a boy in too-small sweatpants and no shirt. All of hers were too small and too tight. "And what about a pants fairy?"

Francine wordlessly held up the box. Then decided words were manageable after all. "I...am one?" ....Maybe not those words.

Date: 2009-09-23 03:34 pm (UTC)She'd take a shirt, too, if it was handed to her, but Emma was enjoying making her Pants Fairy squirm.

Date: 2009-09-23 03:41 pm (UTC)She also had no idea how to guess Emma's size, which sadly resulted in more staring. Then thrusting out the box. "You might want to pick your own."

Date: 2009-09-23 04:29 pm (UTC)Emma was the first person she thought off which'd be why there was a knock on the door that morning.

Date: 2009-09-23 04:52 pm (UTC)Ugh. Boys could have style, there was no reason to wear things that didn't fit right or match. "Are you the Pants Fairy for everyone today, or am I just that special?"

Date: 2009-09-23 04:54 pm (UTC)< Beka, darling, I'm afraid I'm a bit male at the moment, > she sent, wincing at how even her mental tone sounded like a guy. < If I open the door, I do not want any screaming or flailing about. >

despite the icon, but she was back in her tunics. The fitted much better than the clothes she'd both with Emma.no subject

Date: 2009-09-23 09:41 pm (UTC)"These seem to work for me," she said, plucking at her tunic. "The difference isn't too bad." She paused. "My roommate went out dressed in pink." Because that needed to be shared.

Date: 2009-09-23 09:53 pm (UTC)And no, the great question of the day was, Why am I less disturbed by the idea that I'd be a gay *guy* than -- well.
That and is Emma really as hot as I remember her being or is that just the blonde thing like with Karla?

Date: 2009-09-24 01:35 am (UTC)"Auntie Emma knows everything, darling," Emma replied as she started picking through these shirts. Was there a button-down anywhere? "How can I help?"
Meddle, Emma. The word you want is 'meddle', not help.

Date: 2009-09-24 06:03 pm (UTC)"Or maybe Freud or Jung would be a more entertaining read for you two, if you're trying to figure out why it's not disturbing to know you'd be a gay man."
"Oh, and yes, I'm usually stunningly attractive, thank you, although it might just be a blonde thing." She smiled at Francine brightly before plucking a plain white button-down shirt from the box and shrugging it on. Not fastened, of course, but on. "Did I miss anything?"

Date: 2009-09-24 06:16 pm (UTC)"We are just fine in the book department, thank you." It was the video department that was slightly unsettling these days and I am not picturing that I am thinking of fuzzy bunnies in an Easter basket. "And I'm not disturbed to know I'd be a gay man; I like boys." I'm disturbed that I probably wouldn't be. Entirely. BUNNIES BUNNIES BUNNIES BUNNIES WITH PASTEL COLORED EGGS. "And you missed buttoning your shirt."
She yanked the box back, since Emma appeared to be finished with it.

Date: 2009-09-24 06:34 pm (UTC)"And I said 'not disturbing'. I'm sure many people are finding their heteronormative view on life challenged today, so I'm glad you're not too shaken up about it."
no subject
Date: 2009-09-24 07:04 pm (UTC)"...Right." With a side of eww for the bunnies and what for whatevertheheck heteronormative meant. "So. Um. Enjoy the pants."
Fleeeeee, Francine. Fleeeeeee!
