Outside the Dorms, Late Saturday Morning
Jan. 23rd, 2010 12:34 pmHank had a saying; what Emma wants, Emma gets. And what Emma wanted right now was her fencing sword, because being surprised in the shower by that... thing had not been pleasant.
From what she was picking up from the other residents, these things were everywhere. So off to the weapons locker it was, to get something sharp so that she didn't have to try and bludgeon the next one to death with her shampoo bottle.
And somewhere along the line she had acquired a Jack, who was being so very Victorian about this, and not letting her out of the dorms alone.
"I don't need a babysitter, you know. I know where the weapons lockers are."
[OOC: For the Victorian Terrier, plz.]

Date: 2010-01-24 02:47 am (UTC)Shepherding him to the clinic without letting him get eaten might be a challenge.

Date: 2010-01-24 02:53 am (UTC)Jack was usually a challenge. This was simply going to be a different sort of challenge. But so long as he stopped calling her ángel, she would find a way to manage.

Date: 2010-01-24 02:59 am (UTC)He didn't seem to notice he was calling her anything odd, because his next words were, "How do we get past them?"

Date: 2010-01-24 03:09 am (UTC)She peered carefully out of the door. "I think it looks clear."

Date: 2010-01-24 03:18 am (UTC)He was leaving off that he felt dizzy every time he moved. He wouldn't fall over. He didn't think. His gait was unsteady, though, and he leaned on her arm.

Date: 2010-01-24 03:24 am (UTC)She'd mentally yell for Raven, if she wasn't half-afraid that a teleport would make him worse, so one step at a time it was.

Date: 2010-01-24 03:53 am (UTC)He kept on babbling like this for some time as they walked down the path toward the clinic. Luckily, there were very few gremlins along the way. "I think we're almost there."

Date: 2010-01-24 04:04 am (UTC)"Almost," she encouraged him. "You're doing wonderfully, darling, just another few blocks and we'll be there. See? There's the Park."

Date: 2010-01-24 04:20 am (UTC)A few steps later he ventured, "It's very green."
A few more steps and, "Emma? Why does my head hurt?"

Date: 2010-01-24 05:25 am (UTC)"But" --and the lucid moment might have been fading -- "I do love you. Really."

Date: 2010-01-24 05:27 am (UTC)More like never mention it at all.

Date: 2010-01-24 05:31 am (UTC)He would pay her not to mention it again.

Date: 2010-01-24 05:36 am (UTC)"You owe coffee during every one of Mitchell's classes for the next month," she muttered. "And a nice dinner out. Possibly something shiny."
Tacky, Jack, and the only reason you're not getting smacked this instant and left in the middle of the road is because Emma knows you're not right in the head.

Date: 2010-01-24 05:45 am (UTC)His eyes were wide, innocent and almost blank, as if he could not conceive of what he had said wrong. Just then, he couldn't; he was only being honest.

Date: 2010-01-24 05:55 am (UTC)"Tree, Jack." Emma took his hand firmly to guide him along in a slightly-straighter line. "You owe me coffee for getting you down here in one piece. I'm a shopper, not a fighter."
...way to dodge the issue, Emma.

Date: 2010-01-24 06:07 am (UTC)Another tree. He squeezed her hand as he dodged it.
"Thank you," he said, sheepish. "I mean that. Thank you."
